Raw Vegan Village In Progress! Hello! We want to thank all of you again for your interest in and excitement about The Raw Vegan Village. The response has been overwhelming! It seems that what raw vegans need more than anything is a social network, - a supportive environment in a like-minded community! We hope this small village will be a model for raw vegan eco villages around the world! NEWS: We are currently raising funds to purchase land and build The Raw Vegan Village. We are not accepting new members at this time. The Property The raw vegan village is planned for building in an area in which food can be grown year-round. Ideally the property will have drinking water, and be set in nature.
Green Homes Our homes will utilize new green building technologies for zero-energy passive hause design. They will be non-toxic, sustainable, durable, and use recycled materials. Our Contractor Reggie Wood is a leading green builder who practices Integrative Design, in which each part is considered in relation to every other part and the whole. Landscaping will be permaculture with food forests and native plants. The Business Model The core group will work together as a home corporation in various business ventures to be determined, possibly to include a raw vegan resort, a production studio, and a publishing company.
We have a group of 20 committed raw vegan families who are holding the vision for this village together. We have had over five hundred responses from people wanting to live in the village, and they continue to pour in, so we have started a waiting list for possible future spaces / villages. The Common House The Common House will always be open to all of the residents of the raw vegan village. Each individual's or family's house will be their totally private dwelling. The Common House will have an open-concept lodge-style kitchen and large dining area, large living room and library, as well as office space, a schoolroom, and children's activity area.
Film Production Studio Business There are a number of core group members who are interested in working in film production. We will also set up a production studio in the village. This will be another source of income for the community. We feel that by having a media production studio we will be able to share this raw food lifestyle with a great number of people. Model Community With all the shifts going on in our culture today, people are seeking a new way of life that is somehow away from the rat-race while still enjoying the vital creative energy of working in a corporate culture. Massive lay-offs, outsourcing, and foreclosures are affecting good, solid, skilled and talented people, and I believe that this type of community could be set up to serve people in many walks of life. We hope this village will be a model for many more like it, in which people with related skills and ideals can work together from home offices, have more time for their children, work with like-minded individuals, and enjoy nature and fresh healthy food in non-toxic homes!
